Classes of PET Memberships
Professional Educators of Tennessee has five membership classes. The benefits of each class of membership can be found in the benefits section. Only professional members are allowed to vote and to hold office in the association.
Professional Membership. This membership is open to persons who are involved in pedagogical practices, either through direct classroom instruction, counseling, or school administration. This class also includes those persons who are employed in any professional capacity in any Tennessee public or private school or accredited educational institution in Tennessee. (Dues $165 annually)
School Support Membership. This membership is available to those non-certificated persons working in any Tennessee public and private school in secretarial, clerical, school nurse, or paraprofessional positions. (Dues $80 annually)
Associate Membership. Open to all persons and businesses interested in supporting the goals and principles of PET. Individual donations exceeding $250 above the established membership dues ($40 annually) will qualify the donor as a Sponsoring Member, and he/she will be recognized as such in PET publications and/or websites. Businesses contributing $250 or more will be recognized in PET publications and/or websites as a Sponsoring Member. (Dues $40 annually)
Retired Professional Membership. Open to retired educators who have been Professional members of PET or a sister organization in another state. (Dues $40 annually)
Student Membership. Open only to college students preparing for a teaching career. May include any college student majoring in any field of study. (Dues $20 annually)
