Celebrating 20 Years of Growth and Service!

Founded in 1990 by educators from Maury County Professional Educators (est. 1986), PET quickly grew to represent teachers and education students in East, Middle and West Tennessee. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the state’s second largest association for educators. To commemorate this special anniversary with our members we have elected to host a Banquet Celebration the evening prior to our 20th Annual Conference. Both of these events will take place at the Embassy Suites hotel in Franklin, Tennessee. This hotel is located in the building beside our office building. Since the hotel is located in such close proximity to the PET state office, conference attendees will been given the opportunity to tour the office.

THE  CELEBRATION
As previously mentioned, PET will host our first banquet celebration on Friday, June 11th. This event will begin at 6:00 PM and will be held in the Junior Ballroom of the Embassy Suites hotel. Please join us for an evening of elegance, fine dining, special acknowledgements, celebration and the "roast" of Walter Jewell, PET Executive Director. Live music will be provided by the "Merchants of Cool".

Banquet attendees should choose one of the following entree options.
*All entree options include iced tea, water, coffee, garden salad, dinner rolls served with butter and a slice of New York cheesecake for dessert.*

Option 1: Roasted pork tenderloin in rosemary-mustard crust with natural juices, herbed couscous and caramelized vegetables.
Option 2: Sauteed breast of chicken with madeira-morel veloute, herbed couscous and caramelized vegetables.
Option 3: Pasta primavera served in a marinara sauce, with roasted vegetables, mushrooms, tomatoes, fresh garlic and garnished with parmesan cheese.

Please contact Rachel Tinney with you meal selection prior to June 1st. You may call the PET office toll free at 800.471.4867 or you may send an email to: Rachel@teacherspet.com.

THE  CONFERENCE
Please join us Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Embassy Suites hotel in Franklin, Tennessee for the 20th Annual PET Conference. The conference is scheduled to begin at 8:30 AM. This conference has been designed to be a more interactive, thought provoking and informative experience than those of the past.

As you know, Tennessee will soon elect a new governor. We thought it necessary to give you the opportunity to get as much information from each of the gubernatorial candidates as possible. This is the reason J.C. Bowman sent each candidate a questionnaire. The questionnaire was designed to help you better understand each candidate. You may click on the "2010 Election" tab on the left side of your screen to see the responses submitted by each candidate. Mr. Bowman will lead the Gubernatorial Candidate Forum and a Q&A session that PET members may participate in after the forum.

The cost to attend both of these outstanding events is only $10 per person for PET members & their significant others.
Non-members pay the regular convention price of $300 or they may join PET and pay the same discounted rate of $10.00 per person.

These events are an incredible value for very minimal cost! It is okay if you are unable to attend both events. Please attend the event you can. Please RSVP to Rachel Tinney at 800.471.4867 or by email to: Rachel@teacherspet.com.
